Questlove Offers To Provide The Score For "Lion King" Reboot

Questlove wants to get involved in a high profile remake of "The Lion King." Check out more.

(AllHipHop News) Hip-hop star Questlove has offered up his musical services to help score Disney's new "The Lion King" live-action remake.

The Roots drummer and bandleader took to Instagram to share a picture of the all-star casting sheet, featuring Donald Glover as Simba, and confirming Beyonce as the new Nala.

James Earl Jones will play Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor will tackle the villain Scar, and comedy stars Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen have landed the arts of Timon and Pumbaa, while Alfre Woodard, Keegan-Michael Key, John Oliver, and Eric Andre are also appearing in the project.

Impressed by the line-up, Questlove is also eager to get involved in the film, which will be directed by Jon Favreau, who took charge of the live-action revamp of Disney's "The Jungle Book" last year.

"Um, anyone scoring this @Disney?" he captioned the post, before making light of his already-busy schedule with the hashtag, "#AskingForAMusicianInNeedOfA20thJob".

Hans Zimmer will be returning to compose the music for the film, reprising his role from the 1994 animated movie, which featured five original songs, including "Circle of Life," "Hakuna Matata," and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," written by lyricist Tim Rice and singer Elton John.

The live-action version of "The Lion King" is set to hit theaters in the summer of 2019.
