(AllHipHop News) Investigators in Illinois and Georgia are working towards charging R. Kelly with a crime to keep the singer from fleeing the country.
Yesterday, Chicago's State Attorney Kim Foxx revealed an investigation by the Sex Crimes Unit was almost launched when an unidentified victim came forward.
But the woman and her attorney stopped contacting investigators.
“There's nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of both victims and witnesses. We cannot seek justice without you,” Kim Foxx said. “We need actual witnesses and victims to have the courage to tell their stories.”
Authorities in Fulton County, Georgia are also pursuing charges against the singer after his manager was caught on tape threatening the parents of one of his alleged victims, Joycelyn Savage.
Now investigators are getting tips that R. Kelly is planning to flee the country, possibly to Africa.
The tips could be well founded since the singer has some extensive ties on the continent.
In 2010, he performed the 2010 World Cup anthem "Sign of a Victory" in South Africa, and he has been there twice over the past twenty years.
The singer also once appeared in Ethiopia, but he most likely will not be welcomed in that country, after this shocking video of him "recruiting" resurfaced on the net in the wake of "Surviving R. Kelly."
