R. Kelly’s Streaming #’s Rise After ‘Surviving’ Documentary
(AllHipHop News) There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel, right?
For R. Kelly, things have been in turmoil since the recent "Surviving R. Kelly" documentary aired all his dirty laundry.
Former friends, employees, family members, and even young girls have come forth about the hit singer's sexual abuse.
Amidst all the backlash and negativity swirling around his name, it looks like his streaming platform numbers are going up.
A Spotify rep confirmed that the R&B singer’s streams have increased by 16% since the documentary aired on Lifetime on Thursday night.
Last year in May, Spotify had removed R. Kelly’s music due to their policy of not promoting artists who have committed “hateful conduct.”
They later withdrew the ban after receiving backlash for singling out R. Kelly, when other artists had been accused of sexual assault as well.
