(AllHipHop News) One half of Rae Sremmurd may have been caught up in a violent encounter in New Zealand. According to a witness, several men were seen fighting on an Auckland street.
The New Zealand Herald published an article stating that Slim Jxmmi (born Aaquil Brown) spoke to police after the alleged incident involving a broken bottle being used as a weapon. The rapper apparently had blood on his forearm and torso. One person was taken to the Auckland Emergency Hospital with serious injuries.
The publication reports:
Another witness said the American group were walking down the street when someone called out to them, sparking a verbal confrontation. The American group appeared to be walking away when they were attacked by a member of the other group, the witness said. One man who contacted the Herald saying he was involved said he challenged the Americans because they were filming a friend of his - a homeless man who had been drinking. He thought it was inappropriate and in turn decided to film the group himself but they took [offense] to being filmed and confronted him. He said words were exchanged between the two parties before a fight ensued.
Rae Sremmurd was in the Pacific island nation to perform at the Logan Campbell Centre. The January 4 show is billed as the duo's first headlining concert in New Zealand since 2015. In addition, they are scheduled to perform at Australia's FOMO Festival on the 5th.
On January 3, Jxmmi uploaded a video message on his Twitter account declaring that he loves traveling overseas. The clip included the "Nothing For Christmas" rhymer calling on Auckland women to slide in his DMs. He also posted an Instagram Story on Thursday with footage of what appeared to be ice on his wrist.
