Rappers Gaining More Power In Music Business According To New "Power 100" List

A number of rap moguls are becoming more influential over the entire music business.

(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z has broken into the top 50 to become the highest ranking performer on Billboard's new Power 100 List.

The rap mogul and his Roc Nation executives land at 41 on the 2019 countdown, which is made up of producers, managers and record label executives.

Lucian Grainge, the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, tops the list, ahead of Live Nation Entertainment president and CEO Michael Rapino and Daniel Ek, Dawn Ostroff, Barry McCarthy, Horacio Gutierrez, and Nick Holmsten, the brains behind music streaming site Spotify.

Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's manager Scooter Braun lands at 16, two spots ahead of fellow music mogul Guy Oseary​.

Bryan 'Birdman' Williams and his brother Ronald 'Slim' Williams, who run Cash Money Records, come in at 54 and Neil Portnow, the president and CEO of The Recording Academy rounds out the list at 100.
