Remy Ma Addresses Reports Her Lil Kim Collaboration Is A Nicki Minaj Diss Record

The New York emcee discusses her "Wake Me Up" single on 'Sway In The Morning'.

(AllHipHop News) New York rappers Remy Ma and Lil Kim connected for the new song "Wake Me Up." The collaboration instantly made waves across the internet by trending on Twitter and YouTube.

Many listeners assumed some of Remy's bars on the track were aimed at her rival Nicki Minaj. Add the fact that Kim has her own history of feuding with the Young Money rep, and it seemed "Wake Me Up" was a double-teamed attack against Nicki. Rem addressed the diss record speculation on Sway In The Morning.

"Me and Kim coming together, contrary to what people may think, we just did it because it was dope," explained Remy. "Y'all know when it's a diss record."

She added, "I wish people would get over it and other people get over themselves. This is about me and an icon that created lanes for people like me in this industry... Let us be great. Stop trying so hard to make it something negative when it's not."

Remy Ma also revealed she has upcoming Seven Winters, Six Summers singles with Chris Brown and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Videos for those tracks will be released in the future.
