(AllHipHop News) Who are the current legends or legends-in-the-making in Hip Hop? That was a topic on the latest episode of Revolt's State of the Culture. Outspoken recording artist Remy Ma offered her opinion on the subject by referring to record-breaking artist Drake during the discussion.
"The people you guys are mentioning - like the Drakes - I feel like they have dope music and they have good albums and people like them, but it's definitely going to have to be something that they are going to have to put into people as a feeling that goes somewhere else," Remy told her fellow SOTC panelists.
She added, "I could see that with [J. Cole] just based on certain things he does outside of music as well. Drake - amazing music but I feel like, as far as legendary, he's going to have to work a little bit harder to get it. Even though I think he's a dope rapper. I think all his albums have been great, and I think he makes great music. People are going to give him a little bit of a harder time."
For many Hip Hop heads, Drake using Quentin Miller to write some of his verses is a lyrical sin that blocks him from the Top 5 or G.O.A.T. debate. However, some rap fans consider the OVO leader to be in line with other legendary Hip Hop figures that have had help writing bars like Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Will "The Fresh Prince" Smith, Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Kanye West.
