(AllHipHop News) Some Remy Ma fans are worried the rapper could be headed back to prison. The State of the Culture panelist turned herself in to authorities on Wednesday for supposedly punching fellow Love & Hip Hop New York cast member Brittney Taylor.
The alleged assault purportedly took place on April 16 during a benefit concert at New York City's Irving Plaza. However, Remy's lawyer, Dawn Florio, is denying that Reminisce Smith Mackie had anything to do with the incident.
Florio is quoted saying Taylor is a "liar." The attorney also insisted Remy Ma was back at home nursing her newborn daughter at 9:30 pm, the time the criminal complaint claims the attack took place.
"She's going to fight this to the end," added Florio, who plans to present witnesses that will back up her client's innocence. Remy was arraigned on misdemeanor assault and harassment charges. The 38-year-old entertainer was released on $1,500 bail, and she is due back in court on May 24.
Remy Ma served six years in a New York state prison for assault, weapon possession, and attempted coercion. After her release in 2014, she was placed on parole until August of this year. The "All the Way Up" spitter is now required to wear an ankle monitor, adhere to an 8 pm curfew, and avoid any contact with Taylor.
