(Allhiphop News) When prison puts your life on pause, putting it back in motion once you're released can be the hardest ordeal. Recently freed Remy Ma spoke on Papoose being her cheerleader while incarcerated, feeling awkward when fans visited her in prison and more.
Some fans pay exorbitant amounts of money to meet their favorite artist while others simply travel to the prison they're in. In her interview with Nicole Bitchie, Remy explained that get visitor list did not need to be approved and "anybody really can just come up there." Remy detailed a story of a woman who traveled from Texas to Rikers Island to visit her:
One time this one girl, she lived all the way in Texas, and I was like “Ok, I really want to leave right now because I’m really uncomfortable. But I feel bad because you came all the way from where you came from.” And she was like “I’m such a big fan. And I just wanted to come and show my support.”
Remy and Papoose were set to wed on a yacht on April 27th, 2008 but her impending incarceration forced the couple to wed while she was incarcerated. According to Remy, Pap being her "super cheerleader" helped her name stay publicly relevant:
