(AllHipHop News) A retired police officer working with the city of Vallejo to investigate the shocking shooting death of rapper Willie McCoy in a Taco Bell drive-thru has cleared the cops who killed the rising rapper.
Dave Blake claims to be an expert in training officers in the use of force and he's working with city investigators who are trying to get to the bottom of McCoy's murder at the hands of six cops.
Blake recently wrote a letter to City Attorney Claudia Quintana, where he said officers were within their rights to shoot McCoy 55 times in just 3.5 seconds on February 9.
The incident unfolded when a Taco Bell employee called 9-1-1 to report an unresponsive person in a car outside the restaurant's drive-thru window.
When the cops arrived to check on the occupant of the vehicle, they found a sleeping McCoy asleep in the Mercedes-Benz with a firearm on his lap.
The cops claim McCoy, 20, woke up, leaned his body forward and motioned with his left hand as if he were reaching for the gun they saw on his lap.
At that moment, each one of the six officers started firing into the Benz, striking Willie in the face, throat, shoulders, chest, and arm. Willie McCoy's family is planning a civil suit against the city of Vallejo over the outrageous shooting.
