(AllHipHop News) Rod Stewart has added his support for rapper A$AP Rocky as he fights for his freedom in Sweden following an arrest on July 2.
Rocky was forced to scrap a series of dates after police in Stockholm apprehended and detained the star following a street fight.
He has been behind bars for almost three weeks as authorities continue to investigate the incident that led to his arrest, and his lawyer claims he is being kept in "inhumane conditions."
Rocky has received support from his rap peers, and now Sir Rod has revealed he's keeping a close watch on his friend's incarceration.
The rocker says he's "dismayed" about reports of Rocky's alleged "mistreatment" in an online post, stating, "Let’s have #JusticeForRocky!"
The pair became unlikely friends after Rocky sampled Stewart’s vocals from In a "Broken Dream," which he originally recorded with Python Lee Jackson, for the track "Everyday," which featured on Rocky’s 2015 album At. Long. Last. ASAP.
The rapper has also received support from New York congressman Adriano Espaillat, who has written letters to officials at the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Embassy in Sweden asking for their help in securing the hitmaker's release.
