Roots Picnic Doubles In Size Despite Brief Moment Of Panic

Fortunately, it was a false alarm and the rest of the show went off without any problems.

(AllHipHop News) The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia experienced a little drama last night.

The annual concert attracts some of the biggest names each summer and fans flock from all around the country to catch their favorite artists in a laid-back environment, which also features guest panelists and some of the best food in the Tri-State area.

Rap star 21 Savage had just taken the stage at the Mann Music Center in Fairmount Park, when hundreds of fans began running for the exits, believing someone in the crowd had pulled a gun.

Five people were injured in the chaos, including one man who broke his leg as fans scrambled to get out of dodge.

Luckily, it was a false alarm and the concert resumed within a half hour. According to cops, no arrests were made.

Despite the brief moment of terror, The Roots Picnic was otherwise a success.

Acts who graced the stage included H.E.R., Davido, Lil Baby, Queen Naija, Blueface, Raphael Saadiq and The Roots, who celebrated the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Things Fall Apart*.

This year's festival almost doubled in size, with 25,000 patrons supporting The Roots flagship event.

This is an ABSOLUTE lie!!!! Hundreds were injured not 5. We all limped away bloody and covered on dirt. Shame on the roots, live Nation and the media for covering this up! People are really suffering over this!
