Russell Simmons Helps Queens Library

Russell Simmons is continuing his push to further

the cause of education and will donate $10,000 to the Queens Borough Public

Library in Queens, New York.

Simmons, who recently spoke with Kevin Powell,

Benjamin Muhammad and others at Powell's Hip-Hop Speaks event in Harlem, said

that the donation will be used to help fund the library's youth programs.

Following the presentation, Simmons will emcee

a youth program that will feature various poets from his popular Def Poets series

on HBO. Simmons is also being honored at the Queens Library Foundation Gala.

He will be recognized for his philanthropic work with youth across the country.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Queens

Library's Futures Fund, which help provide resources for the library's children's
