Russell Simmons Steps Down From Companies After New Rape Allegations

Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons is stepping away from the business after new rape allegations emerged.

(AllHipHop News) Rap mogul Russell Simmons has announced he is stepping down from his companies, after allegations he raped a model named Keri Claussen Khalighi and new allegations involving a writer named Jenny Lumet.

Jenny Lumet detailed new allegations against Russell Simmons in a post on The Hollywood Reporter.

The screenwriter of "Rachel Getting Married" and "The Mummy" claims Russell Simmons forced her to have sex against her will back in 1991 as well.

"There was penetration. At one point you were only semi-erect and appeared frustrated. Angry? I remember being afraid that you would deem that my fault and become violent," Jenny Lumet wrote. "I did not know if you were angry, but I was afraid that you were.

"I desperately wanted to keep the situation from escalating. I wanted you to feel that I was not going to be difficult. I wanted to stay as contained as I could.

You told me to turn over on my stomach. You said something about a part of my body. You did not ejaculate inside me."

The latest allegations add to the claims of abuse against Russell Simmons.

Former model Keri Claussen Khalighi insists the Def Jam Recordings co-founder victimized her during a weekend of abuse in 1991 when she was just 17.

Khalighi claims Simmons forced her to have sex with him in his New York City apartment.

Russell has insisted the sexual contact that took place between them during the weekend in question was consensual, but today (November 30), Simmons announced he was departing his own companies.

"While her memory of that evening is very different from mine, it is now clear to me that her that her feelings of violence and intimidation are real," Russell Simmons said in a statement. "While I have never been violent, I have been thoughtless and insensitive in some of my relationships over many decades and I sincerely and humbly apologize."

@Nonada You're right. I feel sorry for the women who are being honest and coming forward with REAL allegations, because there will be a lot of BS pretenders coming forward for spotlight and/or $$$ and will ruin it for the real ones. In saying that, when I see Russ step down, it's an implication of guilt, it may be a strategic business move, but I wouldn't give up mine being accused of some BS I didn't do.

@PointGuard_QB You ain't neva lied!!!

And that’s the problem.
Feminist seizing the momentum to realign power. Feminism has be about dominance and not equality.

The outcome is a judgment based on allegations only. The judgment is public perception, lost of carreer, potential vile defamation, and no evidence in half the cases.

No one file a court case yet and lives are affected.

However this doesn’t mean none of it happened.
Those truly violated should seek civil court justice, or criminal.
But simple interactions between male and female from decades are now potentially reinterpreted for some to take advatang of.

Not Russell more def comedy jam...stalking those young girls in the 90's

This is the end for lots of powerful men..
