(AllHipHop News) Ms. Lauryn Hill has a history of having issues when it comes to her shows. For years, concertgoers complained about the Hip Hop legend's tardiness and underwhelming performances.
The latest chapter in the New Jersey native's touring troubles came on September 12. Portland residents were expecting to see Santigold as an opener for "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour." However, the "Run the Road" singer never made it to the stage.
"I’m sorry you paid to see us and we’re not there. That really bums me out. I’m also bummed that @MsLaurynHill and crew didn’t tell ppl why we’re not there. She took us off the bill," tweeted Santigold when a disappointed fan complained on Twitter.
Santi later added, "Nope not sick. So sorry I wasn’t able to perform for you all. Note I saw from @MsLaurynHill Mgmt team read... 'Due to production issues, The Miseducation 20th Anniversary Tour is unable to accommodate Santigold’s performance this evening.'"
According to people in attendance, Nas didn't perform that night either. Hill went on to give a two-hour performance of cuts off the Miseducation and Fugees albums.
“You feel good, everybody? Or grateful that we are here? Twenty years. That music that’s still relevant and still resonates with people - we are grateful for that. We appreciate all the support we have gotten through the years," Lauryn told the Portland audience.
