Season 2 Of Donald Glover's 'Atlanta' Has Begun Filming In The City

Fans of the critically-acclaimed comedy should be happy to know DG is back to work on the show.

(AllHipHop News) Some fans of Donald Glover's FX series Atlanta were slightly agitated when they found out the popular show would not be returning until 2018. There is now some good news for those loyal viewers because Atlanta Magazine reports Glover has begun shooting season 2 of the comedy.

According to the publication, crews from Atlanta were seen in the Mechanicsville neighborhood of ATL between September 20 and 22. Apparently, filming also took place at an East Point office building on September 22 as well as Southlake Mall on September 25.

Atlanta premiered on September 6, 2016 to record viewership and critical acclaim. The program earned numerous industry awards, including Glover winning Emmys for acting and directing.

Even though over a year would have passed from the final episode of Atlanta season 1 and the first episode of Atlanta season 2, Glover has insisted the wait will be worth it. He spoke about the delay last month.

“I’m not the type of person to rush anything. I feel like if you rush it, you’ll start to get something you don’t want and then you start to question why you even liked it,” said Glover. “So, I’m not gonna make anything until it’s ready. But to be completely honest, it’s almost ready. I’m pretty happy with a lot of the things, and I think it’s better than the first season.”

The actor/director/rapper/comedian has remained busy while Atlanta was on hiatus. Glover appeared in the summer blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming. He also signed on for the upcoming Han Solo prequel, The Lion King remake, and the FXX animated Deadpool series.
