Slick Rick’s Hip-Hop Classic “Children’s Story” Turned Into Picture Book


Slick Rick’s track “Children’s Story” is to be turned into a picture book. The rapper’s 1988 classic tale of armed robbery, a police chase, hostage taking, drug abuse, and police brutality is being made into a book for Record Store Day 2017.

(AllHipHop News) Bosses at Def Jam subsidiary Get Down are publishing the 16-page book to accompany a vinyl reissue of the hip hop star’s seminal 1988 album The Great Adventures of Slick Rick.

The book and vinyl will go on sale at independent record shops around the world on April 22.

Other acts whose work is being reissued on vinyl for record store day include Little Mix, Diana Ross, The Cure, Madonna and late rockers David Bowie and Lou Reed.
