Soulja Boy Apologizes For Being Tricked Into Recording Anti-Semitic Messages

Brett Favre and Andy Dick were also fooled by white supremacists.

(AllHipHop News) DeAndre "Soulja Boy" Way became the victim of an über-level troll. Soulja Boy was one of several celebrities that was duped into endorsing anti-semitic conspiracy theories on the Cameo platform.

White supremacists on YouTube reportedly paid Soulja Boy, NFL legend Brett Favre, and comedian Andy Dick to record messages of support for the so-called Goyim Defense League (GDL). The videos featured the public figures unwittingly using coded anti-Semitic language.

“Shoutout to Handsome Truth and Sway at GDL,” Soulja Boy could be heard saying in the now-deleted vid. He was referring to the alt-right online identities known as Handsome Truth and Sway Guevara.

A representative for the "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" performer issued an apology for the offensive posts. Soulja also personally addressed the matter.

“I was tricked,” the 28-year-old former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star told The New York Times. “I apologize to anyone I offended. I thought it was just a shoutout for a fan. I didn’t know it had a negative meaning behind it.”
