Suge Knight's Attorney Removed For "Attempting To Assist" With Bribes To Witnesses

The ongoing legal drama surrounding Suge Knight's murder trial continues, and this time a lawyer could be in trouble too.

(AllHipHop News) Marion "Suge" Knight Has hired a new defense attorney after prosecutors pointed out a conflict of interest with the lawyer who was representing the imprisoned mogul.

Suge is facing a life sentence for allegedly running down and killing Terry Carter and injuring another man named Cle "Bone" Sloan, during a dispute as Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and others were filming of a promotional spot for "Straight Outta Compton."

While Suge was languishing in prison on the murder charge, the Death Row Records founder was also hit with charges that he threatened F. Gary Gray, who directed the hit movie, which is based mostly on the career of super producer Dr. Dre.

The lawyer in the case who is representing Suge was accused of "attempting to assist the defendant in procuring Witnesses for his defense, which included payments for fabricated testimony," according to prosecutors.

While the attorney, Matthew Fletcher, had denied any wrong doing, prosecutors charged there was a conflict with Fletcher representing Suge Knight in the case, where Suge is accused of Witness tampering, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

Prosecutors have declined to say whether or not they will charge Matthew Fletcher with the same charges, because the homicide investigation is the department's focus, according to the Los Angeles Times.
