T.I. To Receive First Ever "Voice of the Culture" Award From ASCAP

The Atlanta rapper will be honored for his amazing career.

(AllHipHop News) Rap star T.I. will be the man of the hour this June during ASCAP's annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.

T.I. will be awarded the first-ever ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award this June, during the 32 annual ceremonies, thanks to a successful career that spans music, movies, technology, philanthropy, community activism and more.

"T.I. has conquered the worlds of music, TV and film, helping to popularize a new sub-genre of music in the process," said ASCAP's Chairman of the Board and President Paul Williams.

"His significant contributions to hip-hop music, support for other artists through his record label, philanthropy, community activism and memorable onscreen roles have had a profound impact on today's music and culture. There is no one more deserving to receive the inaugural ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award," Paul Williams added.

In addition to T.I., Motown Records will receive the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award.

The award honors ASCAP members who have had a major impact on the legacy of Rhythm & Soul music.

Previous recipients include Smokey Robinson, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Chaka Khan, Peabo Bryson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Rick James, and Bill Withers.

The 32nd annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards on Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Los Angeles.

NO! Tip is the first rapper that turned on the culture when he defended Iggy with his life, literally! History will always judge him this way. Tip is a sellout by all definitions of the word.
