Rap star T.I. sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith to apologize to his daughter for joking about her sexuality on a podcast.

(AllHipHop News) T.I. has finally explained himself after a firestorm of criticism over the way he handles his daughter's gynecology visits.

The Atlanta rapper found himself smack dab in the middle of what's been dubbed "Hymengate" after an interview on a podcast called "Ladies Like Us."

During the conversation in the since-deleted episode, T.I. said he checked his daughter Deyjah Harris' gynecological reports to make sure her hymen wasn't broken, just to ensure she was still a virgin.

A variety of celebrities, activists, and organizations like Planned Parenthood had unflattering words for T.I.'s style of parenting.

Women's rights activist Gloria Steinem went far as accusing T.I. of committing human rights violations.

In the middle of the controversy, Deyjah liked a variety of posts critical of T.I. and she also decided to unfollow her dad on social media.

T.I. turned to Jada Pinkett Smith, in an attempt to do damage control on her Red Table Talk show on Facebook.

During the interview, which dropped today (November 24th) T.I. said his he was simply joking, and that his comments were taken out of context.

"From a place of truth, I began to embellish and exaggerate... I think a lot of people took it extremely literal,” T.I. said during the sit-down.

T.I. also denied taking Deyjah to the gynecologist every year until she was 18. When he did attend, Deyjah's biological mom Ms. Niko has also been present.

"Never said I was in any exam room," the rapper explained. "Never said it was being done present-day, never said that her mother wasn't present."

T I said he was just trying to be a good dad but he has since realized his comments came across as insensitive and he apologized to Deyjah, who encouraged him to break his silence, as well as her mom.

T.I. also said Deyjah's "sanctity" was the most important thing in his life.

"I'm talking about all the slimy, grimy, chubby-fingered little boys, who want to defile and destroy the sanctity that I have...the thing that's the most important in my life. I'm going to deal with that with extreme care," T.I. said.

T.I.'s ex and Deyjah's mom Ms. Niko seemingly replied on Instagram and her reply seemed to take a swipe at the rapper.
