T-Pain Is In Too Much Pain To Perform The National Anthem

The singer scrapped plans to sing at a major league soccer game.

(AllHipHop News) Hip-hop star T-Pain has axed plans to perform at the upcoming Major League Soccer All-Star Game after falling ill.

The singer had been booked to belt out the U.S. National Anthem at the sporting event in Atlanta, Georgia on August 1, but organizers have since revealed he is too sick to hit the stage.

A replacement is expected to be named shortly.

T-Pain had only just been announced as the star performer for the Mercedes-Benz Stadium game between the MLS All-Stars and Italian team Juventus this week, when he shared his excitement at the event.

"I am honored to perform the National Anthem to kick off the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target," he declared in a statement at the time. "Thank you to Major League Soccer, the city of Atlanta, and all the fans."

MLS All-Star weekend is set to kick off on Saturday, with a variety of festivities leading up to the big game next week.
