(AllHipHop News) Houston rapper Tay-K, real name Taymore McIntyre, has been found guilty of murder and now faces 99 years in jail. If he he received mercy, he can get as little as 5 years per charge.
The rapper was party to a home invasion robbery that ending in the death of a 21-year-old man after the group failed to find drugs and or money in July 2016. Tay-K, now 19, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery, but not the murder charge. A Tarrant County jury found him guilty of murder on Friday.
Tay-K’s lawyers tried to argue that the rapper didn't know the shooter Latharian Merritt would murder Ethan t t and that they didn't know each other. would be killed by an accomplice, Latharian Merritt. Prosecutors and witnesses countered Tay-K's account, stating he actually requested Merritt to come to the failed home invasion.
Despite his circumstances, Tay-K has another capital murder charge in Bexar County pending as well as an aggravated robbery charge in Tarrant County. Tay-K allegedly robbed and killed a man at a Chick-fil-A in April 2017 and robbed another one in Arlington in May 2017. Both of these incidents happened after Tay-K cut his ankle monitor off. Tay-K was caught by police in June 2017.
“The Race,” the rapper's hit song, was posted on YouTube as he eluded the authorities. It has since hit over 13 million views and charted on Billboard in 2017.
