Teen Arrested For 'Trae Day' Shootings
A teenager who was wanted for his role in a violent shooting last month during Trae Day has turned himself in to authorities.
Albert Walker Mondane surrendered to Houston police officers on Friday (August 14) according to police representatives.
Mondane, 19, also goes by the name A-Walk.
He was wanted in connection with the shooting, which occurred during the event, which was held to honor Houston rapper Trae tha Truth and his community service work.
The annual Trae Day, which took place at Texas Southern University on July 22, was interrupted by gunfire around 8:30 PM, as the event was winding down.
Police believe Mondane and possibly several other men, fired on the crowd, wounding eight people, aged 14-21. Mondane was charged with engaging in organized crime.
He is being held in the Harris County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
