(AllHipHop News) Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine's fans have launched a petition in a bid to help him win bail before his trial begins next year.
The "Fefe" star was arrested and charged with six criminal counts, including conspiracy to murder and racketeering, following his arrest on November 18, after prosecutors linked him to the Nine Trey Gangster Bloods gang.
Tekashi, real name Daniel Hernandez, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, but his previous bail offer has been rejected, amid concerns his freedom would pose a threat to society - and he's a flight risk.
On Friday, his lawyer Lance Lazzaro revealed he is putting together a new bail package, which would set his client's bond at $1.5 million, while aiming to assure the judge the rapper is not a danger to society or a flight risk.
Lazzaro is planning to file a motion before the 22-year-old is due back in court next month, and his fans are now doing their part to help with a petition on Change.org.
Titled, "The Bail Release of Hip Hop International Artist Daniel Hernandez" stage name Tekashi 69," the petitioners are asking the judge overseeing the case to "grant this young man bail so he can get back with his family & continue to make great music for his fans while he fights this legal battle."
The petition reads: "Let's show that this Rainbow hair rapper is a non threat to any community but is loved for all that he has done & the positive impact he has on others. We thank everyone for your love & support."
The online campaign has garnered over 40,000 signatures towards its 50,000 goal.
Meanwhile, if Lazzarro's motion is denied, Tekashi69's trial is scheduled to begin in September of 2019.
If convicted at trial, Tekashi could be handed a life sentence, with a minimum of 32 years in prison.
