(AllHipHop News) A new comedy film is headed to Netflix. According to Deadline, The After Party will star music artists Teyana Taylor (The Breaks), Wiz Khalifa (Mac & Devin Go to High School), and French Montana (The Perfect Match).
The cast also includes veteran actor Blair Underwood (Set It Off) and XXL Freshman Kyle Harvey (aka SuperDuperKyle). Russell Simmons of Def Pictures along with late WorldstarHipHop founder Lee “Q” O’Denat are credited as producers.
Ian Edelman (How to Make It in America) wrote the screenplay and is set to direct the movie. The coming-of-age tale centers around two close friends' last night together before one character heads off to college and the other prepares for military service.
O’Denat developed the concept for The After Party based on inspiration from classic motion pictures such as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and American Graffiti. Filming has already begun in New York City.
