(AllHipHop News) When the Juno Award announced the nominations for this year's awards ceremony, many were surprised to see the world's biggest hip-hop act was not up in any category.
Despite having the best-selling album of 2018 with his hit release Scorpion, Drake was not nominated for anything, while big names like Tory Lanez, Shawn Mendes, and Travis Scott were all nominated.
Fans immediately began to speculate that the rap star was snubbed, but he's not nominated for any awards, because he chose not to submit Scorpion for consideration again this year.
"It's unfortunate he chose not to submit, and hopefully, he will come back at some point," said Allan Reid, CEO of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts.
Drake did the same thing last year with his hit album More Life.
