(AllHipHop News) "Became a diamond selling artist today. I’m nothing without my team. Thank you , XO," tweeted The Weeknd on June 28. His #1 smash "The Hills" has crossed the 10 million units mark. Abel Tesfaye became just the 23rd artist to have a record reach Diamond status.
"The Hills" joins other songs such as Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" and Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again." Hip Hop superstar Eminem has three Diamond singles - "Love The Way You Lie," "Lose Yourself," and "Not Afraid."
2015's Beauty Behind the Madness hosted several hits besides "The Hills." Additionally, "Can't Feel My Face" is 7x-Platinum, "Earned It" is 6x-Platinum, "Often" is 4x-Platinum, "Acquainted" is 2x-Platinum, and "In The Night" is 2x-Platinum.
The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness album has earned a 3x-Platinum plaque. The 2016 follow-up LP, Starboy, has also moved over 3 million units. That project's title track is certified 7x-Platinum.
