Three Students Injured & Gunman Killed In Florida State University Shooting
A gunman opened fire at Florida State University early this morning (Nov.20) leaving three students wounded and a gunman killed after a shootout with the police, ABC reports.
After midnight, students heard six shots fired while studying at FSU's Strozier Library and immediately took cover. Students reportedly hid in book aisles and barricaded themselves in rooms. One students was grazed with a bullet and treated at the scene while two other students suffered from gunshot wounds.
"This person just for whatever reason produced a handgun and then began shooting students in the library," FSU Police Chief David Perry told Associated Press.
Tallahassee Police spokesman Dave Northway told the AP that the gunman was confronted by officers outside of the library and when he was ordered to drop his weapon he instead fired one shot, which lead to the police shooting and killing them.
The university is open today but classes are cancelled. See the message the school posted on their Instagram page below.
