(AllHipHop News) This year saw the music industry make an even greater shift toward on-demand streaming, and as a result, the "streaming wars" continued.
Tidal attempted to separate itself from its competition like Spotify and Apple Music by offering a host of exclusive content.
T.I., Damian Marley, Fat Joe, Vic Mensa and others provided more than 45 exclusive music videos on the platform.
Tidal also produced 90 behind-the-scenes videos as well as more than 150 playlists curated by artists, athletes, and celebrities.
In addition, Tidal is the only streaming service with projects by the late music icon Prince.
According to Billboard, Tidal's most recent public announcement put the company's number of subscribers around 3 million.
Apple Music is said to have 20 million subscribers, and Spotify reportedly claims over 40 million subscribers.
