Tiffany Haddish Talks Appearing In Jay-Z’s “Moonlight” Video

The ‘Girls Trip’ star discusses playing Phoebe in the Brooklyn emcee's ‘Friends’ remake.

(AllHipHop News) The music video for Jay-Z’s “Moonlight” spawned notable social media attention and online think pieces.

Hov’s imaginative remake of Friends starred Jerrod Carmichael, Issa Rae, Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Lil Rel Howery, and Tiffany Haddish as the famous cast of the NBC sitcom.

Haddish spoke with MTV News about working with the 4:44 emcee and taking on the role of Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow).

“I’m really good friends with Jerrod because I was on The Carmichael Show with him, and he was saying, ‘Would you ever play a character from Friends?” recalled Haddish. “I was like, ‘Yeah.’ Then they made an offer. I had to sign an NDA form. Next thing I know I’m Phoebe, and it was great.”

It's been a breakout summer for the actress/comedian. Besides Jay's "Moonlight" visuals, Haddish also appeared in the box office smash Girls Trip with Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
