TIG Records To Launch “Think You Can Fly?” Music Education Program In Atlanta HS

Scholars at the school are getting a remodeled recording studio.

(AllHipHop News) Think It’s A Game Records CEO Girvan “Fly” Henry is giving back to his community. Students at Atlanta's Carver S.T.E.A.M. Academy will have the chance to study a music business curriculum taught directly by industry professionals.

Henry and Cliff Palmer are launching “Think You Can Fly?” through the Trust In Giving Foundation. The educational initiative will be formally announced during a student assembly at Carver High School on Friday, March 8th at 2:15 pm ET.

“I was always in trouble as a kid," says Fly. "I went to jail so much that my teachers thought I wouldn’t make it to see 21. I knew I had to change my life around. I want to empower young people and show them that they always have the power to change their lives, even if they come from nothing."

The Trust In Giving Foundation will also renovate the Carver High School recording studio into a state-of-the-art facility. Palmer adds, "Our goal is to nurture, mentor, teach and inspire these students towards successful careers in the music industry."

TIG Records is the label home to "Live That Life" rapper YFN Lucci. Carver S.T.E.A.M. Academy follows an academic model that incorporates science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics courses.
