(AllHipHop News) The internet rumor mill was convinced RCA Records dropped Tinashe from its roster. However, the singer's manager is pushing back against the gossip.
"She wasn’t dropped,” Mike Nazzaro relayed to Rolling Stone. “We initiated for her to be released. It was a positive split for her. It’s giving her back creative control.”
Nazzaro added, "Her relationship with RCA was a long-term relationship, but they needed space." Tinashe is now determining if she will sign with another record company.
The 26-year-old vocalist broke out in 2014 with the platinum-certified single "2 On" featuring ScHoolboy Q. She went on to release three albums via RCA - Aquarius, Nightride, and Joyride.
Tinashe also starred in Fox's Rent: Live television special which aired in January. The production was panned by critics and scored historically low ratings for a TV musical, but Tinashe's performance received positive reviews.
