(AllHipHop News) Tip "T.I." Harris took issue with TMZ's coverage of his sister's death. The celebrity news website upset T.I. by revealing the Fulton County Medical Examiner's toxicology results following Antoinette "Precious" Harris Chapman dying in February as the result of a car accident.
During an Instagram Live broadcast, the Atlanta rapper accused the Harvey Levin-led outlet of "profiting off of people's pain." In a rare retraction, TMZ issued a public apology to the Harris family. The tabloid site published a new article under the heading: "POSTING SISTER'S CAUSE OF DEATH INAPPROPRIATE AND WRONG."
"Earlier Thursday, we posted a story about T.I.'s sister, Precious Harris Chapman, and reported the Medical Examiner's official findings on her cause of death ... we were wrong to do it," reads a section of the post. "T.I. and his family are hurt and furious, and they have a point."
The editorial added, "Precious was only peripherally involved in T.I. and Tiny's reality show, and wasn't in the spotlight as a celebrity. We got this wrong and we regret posting the M.E.'s findings."
TMZ also mentioned that Harris Chapman worked with nonprofit organizations such as Saving Our Daughters, the Covenant House, and Hosea Feed The Hungry. Plus, she was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Salem Bible Church.
"Rest Well Lil Sis...WE GOT U!!! Weapons may form... But They WILL NOT prosper. Not Today!!!! U were too good to too many for US to let any hurt harm or danger come to you or your legacy. #LongLivePrecious," wrote T.I. on Instagram on Thursday.
