Top Official Says Charlamagne Tha God In The Clear And Case Will Never Reopen

In 2001, Charlamagne denied allegations of raping a minor at a party.

(AllHipHop News) Almost seventeen years later, Charlamagne Tha God is still dealing with the rape case that landed him three years of probation.

The good news for him is, no action will be taken.

The victim, Jessie Reid, was 15 years old when she Charlamagne, born Lenard Larry McKelvey, of raping her at a party.

Charlamagne, who was 22 at the time, denied all allegations and was sentenced to three years of probation.

Just this week, Reid came forth to seek legal representation in hopes of reopening a criminal case against The Breakfast Club host.

But South Carolina officials say they will not resurrect a case against him, leaving him innocent from the crime.

“We are duty bound to honor the agreement in this case. The State's prosecution has ended and the dismissed charge against Mr. McKelvey will not be resurrected," a statement by South Carolina Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett A. Wilson read.

"The law presumes that Mr. McKelvey is innocent of the dismissed allegation," the statement said.
