Trae Tha Truth Helped Rescue NBA Player Jonathon Simmons After Hurricane Harvey

The Houston rapper used a boat to help fellow residents escape the flooding in his hometown.

(AllHipHop News) There have been so many people demonstrating acts of kindness following the excessive flooding in Houston, Texas. In an interview with NBA.com, Orlando Magic forward and Houston native Jonathon Simmons retold a story of how Trae Tha Truth helped rescue him and his family.

"Trae the Truth, the rapper, is from Houston and we know a mutual friend from San Antonio. They brought a boat to Houston because [Trae] had to evacuate as well,’’ stated Simmons. "They came and got [Trae] and then he came and got us right away. Luckily, I had a friend in the area who could help us out."

The "I'm On 3.0" rhymer has been credited for aiding other Houston residents after Hurricane Harvey hit the city. He spoke to a local news station about his humanitarian efforts.

"I felt helpless yesterday when I had to be rescued, so I know that feeling," explained Trae on why he aided other Houstonians.

He continued, "Some of the homies from San Antonio and Austin actually came down. They were like, 'We got access to a boat, we got the trucks. Let's get out there.'"
