(AllHipHop News) The city of Houston is showing love to one of its hometown heroes. Travis Scott held his inaugural Astroworld Festival on November 17, and a day later the "Sicko Mode" rapper was honored with his own "Astroworld Day."
"It was lit at City Hall as we took a moment to honor and present a proclamation to [Travis Scott] for his contributions to the arts, the community, and the recent success of his new album #Astroworld," read a tweet from Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner's official Twitter account. "Everyone was in #SickoMode."
Scott also used the social media platform to inform his 4.4. million followers about the news. He tweeted, "GOT MY OWN DAY IN THE CITY!!!!"
The Astroworld Festival featured performances by Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Post Malone, Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd, and more. Scott is currently on his "AstroWorld: Wish You Were Here Tour" with Trippie Redd, Gunna, and Sheck Wes.
