Over the last several years, emcees that have seen their names on Billboard charts attempted to jump in the battle rap ring to varying success. At MC WAR’s “Generation X” event two charting artists will go head-to-head when Keith Murray battles Fredro Starr.

Another hit maker is weighing in on both the Murray vs Starr match as well as the battle rapper vs mainstream rapper debate. Treach of Naughty By Nature suggests the upcoming clash at Brooklyn’s Milk River on October 4 will show signed rappers can battle as hard as the professional lyrical jousters.

“Usually they say battle emcees can’t make hit records. Now we’re gonna show how those emcees that made hit records can battle,” says Treach.

AllHipHop.com will broadcast the Keith Murray versus Fredro Starr battle. Fans can watch the contest in person in NYC by purchasing tickets at mcwars.com.
