(AllHipHop News) Chicago Rapper Vic Mensa went to Palestine to shoot the video for his new single "We Could Be Free."

The rapper went to one of the most troubled regions in the world, where Palestinians and Israelis have been fighting over the disputed city of Jerusalem.

The issue escalated earlier this month, when President Donald Trump moved the United States Embassy to Jerusalem.

Vic Mensa, who shot the video for "We Could Be Free" prior to Trump's decision, said his goal with the video was to show unity with oppressed people around the world.

"I wanted to make a video to show solidarity with people struggling against oppression all over the world," Vic Mensa explained.

"I took scenes from the military occupation of a village I visited in Palestine and juxtaposed them with racial violence in America to show how similar our struggles are and imagine a world without division," the rapper explained.
