Vic Mensa Freestyles Over Kanye West & Consequence's "Grammy Family" Beat

Did the Chicago-raised wordsmith address the XXXTentacion controversy?

(AllHipHop News) The 2019 Grammy nominations will be revealed on Friday, December 7. Hip Hop is expected to have a great showing during the live announcement.

Former nominee Vic Mensa's upcoming Dark Things EP will arrive too late to qualify for contention at the 61st Annual celebration of music. Instead, the Roc Nation rapper showed off his rhyming skills by spitting over the "Grammy Family" beat.

As a guest on Sway In The Morning, Mensa took on Kanye West, Consequence, and John Legend's track off DJ Khaled's Listennn... The Album. Vic's bars appear to allude to the backlash over his BET Hip Hop Awards cypher verse dissing the late XXXTentacion.

"Said what I shouldn't, did what they told me not to do. I'm like a lie detector. I can only tell the truth. For better or worse, gift and the curse, I never reverse my stance. I never mince words, I can't," rapped Mensa.
