Vic Mensa Responds To BET Cypher Controversy With New Song "Empathy"

Listen to what the rapper has to say about his own past with abuse.

(AllHipHop News) Now that BET has aired Vic Mensa's much talked about Hip Hop Award cypher the public got to hear exactly what the Roc Nation emcee had to say about XXXTentacion. Some fans were still upset about the bars directed at the now deceased XXX, but other people felt the reaction to the verse was overrated.

In a new song, Mensa addressed the bickering over his cypher lines about rappers that committed domestic violence. He tweeted, "In response to all the controversy... Empathy."

The record includes the Chicago native admitting he's "an asshole" off the Hennessy. Mensa also speaks on his own history of being violent with an ex-girlfriend. Vic raps, "I f*cked up, admit that I f*cked up... We love to point the finger at everybody but us."
