(AllHipHop News) "Free Young Thug." Those were the first words out of Vince Staples' mouth when asked about an indictment accusing Thug and Birdman of conspiring to kill Lil Wayne. The West Coast representative further elaborated on the wild news story during the sit down with Complex.
"Indictments are very easy things to come across. They throw indictments around like candy," said Vince. "They're fishing bro, but that's not really our business. Something happened, but we're not supposed to tell."
Thugger's road manager Jimmy "PeeWee Roscoe" Winfrey has been arrested for shooting at Lil Wayne's tour bus in Atlanta. Court documents claim Winfrey spoke to both Thugger and Birdman on the phone around the time of the incident.
For Vince, that is not enough evidence to prove the Barter 6 rapper and the Cash Money Records boss took part in planning the alleged hit. The "Señorita" performer suggests the phone conversation could have just been Winfrey admitting he had done something and the person on the other end telling him to hang up.
"He could see Young Thug say, 'I don't f*ck with Lil Wayne.' He could be like, 'Alright, the homie don't like you, so I'm gonna do something on my own,'" offers Vince. "It's so many ways that could go. I don't know. Let's just keep it music. They need to calm down."
