(AllHipHop News) The Notorious B.I.G.’s debut album Ready To Die was chosen for Vinyl Me, Please’s “Record of the Month” for September. The remastered vinyl bundle of the classic 1994 LP will feature the original artwork for the first time in over a decade.
"This record doesn't need a pithy quote. It's Ready to Die - just get out of the way. We put all our energy into producing the definitive vinyl pressing - mastered for vinyl at Alchemy U.K., featuring the original baby cover art, gorgeous multi-color vinyl and a foil-stamped deluxe jacket," says Cameron Schaefer, Head of Music for Vinyl Me, Please. "We still feel like we're living in a dream that we even get to work on a project of this magnitude. It's an honor."
Noname's Telefone was the first project offered to "Rap & Hip-Hop" subscribers. That effort was followed by Common's Electric Circus.
"Over the past few years we've built a solid core of rap and Hip Hop fans among our member base with reissues ranging from Madvillainy to Main Source, as well as special-edition projects with Earl Sweatshirt, Young Thug, Future & others. In the process we recognized the need for a dedicated rap & hip hop subscription to dive deeper into the genre and help reintroduce the vinyl experience to a new generation of rap and Hip Hop fans," says Schaefer.
Purchasers of the Ready To Die vinyl via VMP will receive special items as well. Previous “Record of the Month” selections include Boxer by The National, Demon Days by Gorillaz, and Tidal by Fiona Apple.
