(AllHipHop News) Last month, Wale spoke about parting ways with Atlantic Records. The veteran entertainer said, "It's all love with them. I'm still writing music for some of the artists that's on there.”
“I am thrilled to be at a company that is willing to showcase my artistry, while supporting my entrepreneurial spirit,” stated Wale. “I felt their passion, commitment, and enthusiasm from day one. They believed in my vision wholeheartedly, and I am ready to show and prove.”
2017’s Shine was the final Wale full length released by Atlantic. Ambition came out in 2011 via Warner Bros, and his debut LP Attention Deficit was an Interscope project.
The 33-year-old Hip Hop artist is also the head of his own imprint called Every Blue Moon. His relationship with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group is apparently still intact as well.
"I'm definitely still with MMG, but [Rick Ross] knows I want to level up too. I want to get my EBM joint moving, and I want to go somewhere where I can get a building that doesn't have to look at me and four other artists as one artist,” Wale told the Rap Radar podcast.
Wale is expected to drop his sixth studio album later this year. He has already let loose two EPs in 2018.
