WATCH: A$AP Rocky's Swedish Lawyer Lays Out Rapper's Legal Strategy
(AllHipHop News) Rapper A$AP Rocky and his bodyguard have told Swedish authorities they believed the man they allegedly attacked during a street brawl last month was high on drugs.
A$AP Rocky and two associates have been in police custody in Stockholm since July 2.
The rapper and members of his crew were arrested after they were harassed by a guy who would not stop arguing with them, apparently over a pair of headphones.
The confrontation became violent and resulted in the assault of a man named Mustafa Jafari, who ran into the arms of local cops and decided to press charges after starting the fight.
On Thursday, A$AP Rocky and two of his companions were charged with assault, almost four weeks after their arrest.
According to an investigative report, A$AP Rocky spoke with investigators on July 17, saying "I’m not from here. I asked them to leave us alone. “I prayed [for] them to leave us alone. That we do not want to mess or end up in prison,” which is exactly what happened.
