(AllHipHop News) Rapper Webbie has avoided prison time after striking a plea deal over his 2017 domestic violence arrest.
The rapper, real name Webster Gradney, Jr., was taken into custody by Louisiana police last summer after allegedly clashing with his then-girlfriend.
She claimed Webbie had tried to choke her, hit her, and refused to let her leave their hotel room during the altercation.
He has since reached an agreement with prosecutors, and on Thursday, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of simple battery.
Webbie was ordered to serve one year of probation as part of the deal, but must also stay out of trouble for that period, and complete 20 hours of community service and anger management classes.
He must also pay $5,000 in restitution to his now ex-girlfriend, as well as $500 in court fees.
It's not the first time Webbie has been accused of violent behavior - he was arrested back in 2012 for battery and robbery, after he allegedly kicked a woman down the stairs.
