Will Smith Does An Impression Of Jay-Z Reacting To Him Slapping A Reporter

Watch the entertainment icon discuss that infamous face smack in Russia.

(AllHipHop News) A 2012 viral video of Will Smith slapping a Russian reporter was brought back into modern internet culture when 50 Cent used the moment to make fun of Terry Crews allegedly being sexually assaulted by a man. Smith recently spoke about that infamous red carpet moment during an interview with Tidal's Rap Radar podcast.

The Independence Day actor recalled how his friend Jay-Z called him after seeing the legendary entertainer react to the prankster kissing him. Smith even took it a step further by doing an impression of Hov.

"I was in Russia. I get back and I’m pissed that somebody thinks because you’re famous, they get to do whatever they want to do to you,” recalled the rapper once known as The Fresh Prince. “So I’m in my room and I had ten urgent messages from Jay-Z. He was like 'call me now!' with exclamation points. Jay don't do that."

Will continued, “So I call him like, ‘What’s up?’ He sounds winded." The Fela! co-producer then begins imitating Jay's voice, “He said, ‘I just saw the video of you slapping the dude in Russia. I just want you to know you’ll never make a better piece of entertainment. It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.’ He said, ‘Me and [Beyoncé], we got a show tonight, and we’re thinking about canceling it and just staying in and watching you slap this dude.’”
