(AllHipHop News) The Internet was buzzing with rumors that Will Smith was attempting to bring back the classic 1990's television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. EW is now reporting the Philadelphia actor/rapper's potential program is not an updated take of his NBC hit.
The show is said to be similar to The Fresh Prince by focusing on a "fish-out-of-water" story. Smith's Overbrook Entertainment is producing the family sitcom, but there is no script or network attached at the moment.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ran on NBC from 1990 to 1996. Smith played a fictionalized version of himself. The series also starred Jazzy Jeff, Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, and the late James Avery.
