(AllHipHop News) Becoming a father forced rapper Wiz Khalifa to reevaluate his lifestyle and become a "more responsible" person.
Wiz welcomed son Sebastian, aka Bash, with his now ex-wife Amber Rose in February 2013, and the star admits parenthood gave him the push he needed to grow up and put his family first.
Wiz went on to split from the model and media personality in September 2014 after just one year of marriage, and the break-up gave him a further wake-up call.
In a teaser for the upcoming episode of his new Apple Music docuseries, "Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam," the 31-year-old explains, "Bash is a huge part of that transition - and not being with his mother, too, because it forced me to be more responsible and do the things I wouldn't normally do.
"The older that he gets, the more influence I have on him. So it's not as much as just makin' sure he's good; it's actually being there."
The fifth episode, fittingly titled "Family First," also features his own dad, Laurence Thomaz, who noted the change in his rapper son shortly after Bash's arrival.
"Sebastian's matured him, but it's made him more serious and understand: 'I have to be here; I can't do the dangerous, reckless things I was doing before: I have this little guy to look out for,'" Laurence shares.
Wiz and Amber finalized their divorce in 2016, and they have both since moved on - the rapper was most recently linked to model Winnie Harlow, while Amber is expecting a baby with her new man, Def Jam music executive Alexander Edwards.
The couple announced the happy news earlier this month.
