Wu-Tang Gets Honored With Their Own District On Staten Island

Local officials have given the rap stars some big respect in their hometown.

**(AllHipHop News)**The corner of Targee Street and Vanderbilt Avenue on Staten Island has officially been renamed in honor of The Wu-Tang Clan.

The rap stars were on hand for a renaming ceremony, where Members of the Wu, community leaders, special guests, and Councilwoman Debi Rose unveiled "The Wu-Tang District."

“This is a great day where we have an opportunity to honor our own hometown heroes, the young men who put Staten Island on the map internationally,” proclaimed council member Debie Rose said as part of the Park Hill neighborhood Staten Island was renamed. “They overcame all types of challenges, to not only become rap artist and hip-hop artist but to inspire and challenge the music world."
